About This Degree Progress Calculator
This Degree Progress Calculator shows what percentage of your program's required credits you have completed and how many credits should remain after the current term. It then estimates the number of future terms and projected graduation semester from your planned course load.
For a target graduation date, the calculator also shows the average credits needed per remaining term. However, the result is a credit-based plan, so compare it with your official degree audit to account for required courses, prerequisites, major residency, GPA standards, and course availability.
How to Use the Degree Progress Calculator
Follow these steps for an accurate Degree Progress result
1Check Your Degree Audit
Enter the total credits required and only the completed credits that currently apply to your program.
2Add In-Progress Credits
Include credits from the current term separately so the calculator can show earned progress and projected progress without mixing them.
3Set Your Future Course Load
Enter the credits you expect to complete each future term and the number of terms available before your target graduation.
4Review the Graduation Estimate
Compare remaining credits, required credits per target term, future terms needed, and the projected graduation term with your academic plan.
Credits Are Only One Part of Degree Progress
A student can reach the program's total credit requirement and still need a specific major course, capstone, internship, residency minimum, or prerequisite sequence. For that reason, enter credits that the degree audit applies to the current program rather than every credit appearing on the transcript.
Degree progress can also affect financial aid. The current Federal Student Aid handbook explains that satisfactory academic progress includes a school-defined completion pace and, for undergraduate credit-hour programs, a maximum timeframe no longer than 150% of the published program length. Review the official satisfactory academic progress guidance and your school's written policy separately from this graduation estimate.
