How to Use the CUA GPA Calculator

Follow these steps for an accurate GPA result

1Choose Weighted or Unweighted GPA

Use the toggle at the top of the CUA GPA Calculator to switch modes. Unweighted GPA treats all courses equally on the 4.0 scale — an A in a regular class and an A in an AP class are worth the same. Weighted GPA rewards course difficulty: AP/IB courses earn +1.0 bonus points and Honors courses earn +0.5, both capped at 5.0.

2Enter Your CUA Courses

Each semester starts with three course rows. Click "Add Course" to add more. For each course, optionally type a name, set the credit hours, pick your letter grade from the US 4.0 Scale (No A+, No D+, No D-), and choose the course type (Regular, Honors, or AP/IB). The Catholic University of America uses A as the highest grade, worth 4.0 points.

3Add All Your Semesters

Click "Add Semester" to add as many terms as you need — fall, spring, and summer semesters are all supported. The CUA GPA Calculator automatically computes both per-semester GPA and your running cumulative gpa across all semesters at once.
